I went to Shlomo & Vitos to get some cold cuts from the deli. Their boars head pricing is the best in town! I was greeted at the register by Candice the cashier. She carefully took down my order, rang me up and I paid. I saw some riends sitting at the long table in the middle of the the dining room and walked over while my meat and cheese was being sliced. When my order was ready, the manager came over and introduced himself and told me that everything was ready up front when I was but there was no rush. His name was Neal. After my visit I picked up my cold cuts and headed out. When leaving another gentleman held the door for me and thanked me for my business. He introduced himself as Matt Mckinnen. I believe he is one of the owners. I must say I stopped in for some quick shopping and I ended up meeting the whole staff. I sure felt welcome and appreciated. What a great place!!!

We're heading up there to try it out but I don't like the "halfs" and "fulls" already. A half is already so pricey and it doesn't sound like it would fill you up and the full might be too much food. I hope the pro's out weight my prejudgements. This is a review of the menu.
Response: Alex I hope you were satisfied after dining with us? As you now know our half sandwich is the size of most places full, and our full size will fill up the healthiest of appetites or provide you with another meal for the next day! Our momma always said \"never leave hungry\" and we want to pass that tradition on to our guests! Thank you for dining with us and we hope to see you soon!

Schlomo & Vito's succeeded in curbing my hangover and satisfying my tastebuds. S &V's maintains a vast menu with delicacies ranging from sauteed chicken livers to a duo of spicy corndogs, alongside the Jewish faves you're accustomed to.
Went here for a nice lunch with some classy friends whom I was trying to impress, we were in town from Tempe. I'd gone to school in T-Town years prior and enjoyed S & V's numerous times. This time was no different! Think of this as a Chompies (for those of you from Phx) with a bit less of the homemade touch, but plenty of Jewish dishes to go around. The menu was actually mouth-watering here, not too pricey for the quality/quantity of food.
I ordered the pastrami (half) sammy, others got the full BBQ brisket sand and the half chicken parm all with various sides - good fries! The full sand is enormous, I suggest the half unless you eat like Sasquatch. The chicken parm was awesome, I wish I had ordered it - and I really hate when someone at my table 'out-orders' me, so admitting that was a big step for me...In other news, the young pickles were awesome, and the fact that the RC cola flows like wata was magical.

I don't know where this place was hiding. Maybe since my eyes are so strongly drawn towards La Encantada, I didn't look across Skyline Dr. However I met for lunch with my co-worker for lunch a few months ago, and I am in love. New York Deli in Tucson? Pastrami or ruben sandwich with a side of potato salad (out of this world!). A pickle chips served moments after you sit ; didn't think it was for me, until I tried it. Stuffed eggland parmigiana with mushrooms and sausage topped with mozzarella is my all time favorite. In July, husband and I decided to go with a vegan diet with two non vegan meals a week, twice we have gone to this place to fill our meat meals ( for me it's their mozzarella cheese for my husband, our last outing was their hotdog topped with pastrami). The menu is huge, with many jewish selections, as well as italian choices. They also serve breakfast all day.
The last time I went was for a Sunday breakfast and our server was running as fast as she could and kept apologizing. However our service was just fine. They have a bar and outside patio area. The interior is wonderful and part of the appeal for me to dine there as well; checkboard floors, dark paneled walls and lots of booths to sit in. So far in the 4 times we've gone, it's been great every time.

There's a wide variety of kosher and italian foods to pick from and, frankly, everything I've had has either been good or excellent.
I, for one, appreciate something well done in Tucson that isn't Mexican food. Mexican food is great and all but sometimes it's nice to sit down to sweet and sour stuffed cabbage rolls instead!
Great Sunday spot for brunch, nice crowd.

I love to step out to Shlomo's for lunch. Since I'm a creature of habit, I always have the hot pastrami (half portion) and it is awesome. It is a little on the pricey side and I think they've cut their portions back ever so slightly. I love the pickles at the table before you order, great touch and they're tasty too.
Unfortunately, I can't speak for anything else on the menu, but if you're in the mood for a fantastic hot pastrami sandwich, this is the place for you.
